SMTP Changes
Outlook
From the tools menu select E-mail Accounts
Select View or change existing e-mail accounts and click Next
From the list of email accounts select your Covad email account and click Change
Click on More Settings
If you don't know your email address and password, please feel free to contact Covad Customer Support 1-888-64-COVAD (1-888-642-6823).
Make sure My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication is checked
Click on OK and follow the prompts to exit the menu. You have now successfully setup your email client to do SMTP authentication.
Outlook Express
From the tools menu select accounts
From the list of email accounts select your Covad email account and click Properties
Click on the Servers tab and make sure My server requires authentication is checked
Click on Settings and select Use same settings as my incoming mail server
Click on OK and follow the prompts to exit the menu. You have now successfully setup your email client to do SMTP authentication.
Netscape
From the Edit menu select Mail & Newsgroups Account Settings
Click on Outgoing Server (SMTP) and make sure there is a checkmark in the box next to Use name and password
Eudora
From the Tools menu select Options
Click on the Sending Mail category and make sure Allow authentication is checked
