Basic set-up information for your Covad Services

On your Windows XP computer, go to and click on Network Connections:



In the Network Connections window, double-click the Local Area Connection icon.



In the Local Area Connection Status screen, click the Properties button:



In the Local Area Connection Properties window, highlight Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) by clicking on it. Ensure that it remains check-marked. Next, click the Properties button:



If you are using DHCP:

1. Select Obtain an IP address automatically
2. Select Obtain DNS server address automatically
3. Click OK



If you are using a Static IP:

1. Select Use the following IP address
Enter your IP address, subnet mask and gateway settings.

2. Select Use the following DNS server addresses
Enter your primary DNS server address in the Preferred DNS server box and your secondary DNS server, enter it in the Alternate DNS server box.

3. Click OK.



Your setup is now complete.
