Configuring Internet Access for MAC OS 8-9

The following instructions are for configuring Business DSL Plus & Business T1 Internet Access for computers running MAC OS 8-9.

1. From the Apple Menu, select Control Panels > TCP/IP, as shown in Figure 1.

The TCP/IP window appears, as shown in Figure 2.

2. In the Connect via pull-down menu, select Ethernet built-in.

3. From the Configure pull-down menu, select Using DHCP Server, as shown in Figure 3.

Note: When Using DHCP server is selected, the screen changes slightly. You are prompted to enter a DHCP Client ID. There is no need to add anything in this field.

4. Close the window by clicking the box in the upper left-hand corner.

5. Click Save when asked if you want to save your configuration, as shown in Figure 4.

Configuring AppleTalk

The following walks you through configuring AppleTalk.

1. From the Apple Menu, select Control Panels > AppleTalk, as shown in Figure 5.

2. The AppleTalk window appears, as shown in Figure 6.

3. From the Connect via pull-down menu, select Ethernet built-in.

4. Close the window by clicking the Box located in the upper left-hand corner.

5. Click Save when asked if you want to save your configuration, as shown in Figure 7.

6. Restart your computer.

Congratulations, you have completed your DSL installation! You may now use your browser to surf the Web.
