Domain Email Setup for Outlook Express 6 on Windows
From the Tools menu, select
Accounts
This should bring up the Internet Accounts screen, select
Add then
Mail.
The email internet connection wizard will now appear. Enter your name as you would like it to appear on your outgoing messages in the
Display name field. Click the
Next button.
Next enter your full domain email address in the
E-mail address field.
You will now need to provide the email server information. Select
POP3 for the incoming mail server type and the server information will need to be specified as follows:
Incoming mail server (POP3): mail.covadmail.net
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.covadmail.net
Alternatively you may use your domain settings:
Incoming mail server (POP3): mail.yourdomain.com or pop.yourdomain.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): mail.yourdomain.com or smtp.yourdomain.com
Click the
Next button to continue to the next window.
Next enter your full domain Email address in the
Account name field and password that corresponds to the email account. Click the box to
Remember password. Click the
Next button to continue to the next window.
Click the
Finish button and your domain email account will be added.
When you have returned to the main Outlook Express window, click
Tools and
Accounts.
Click on the
Mail tab and with the mail account that you just created highlighted in the window, click the
Properties button on the right.
Click on the
Servers tab. Then click the box to check
My server requires authentication in the
Outgoing Mail Server section of the window. Click the
Apply button, then the OK button to return back to your main Outlook Express window. This completes the setup of your covad.net mail account.
