Covad.net Email Setup for Outlook 2003 on Windows

From the Tools menu, select E-mail Accounts



This will bring you to the E-mail Accounts Wizard. Select the button to Add a new e-mail account. Click the Next button.



On the Server Type window, select POP3 as the type of account. Hit the Next button to continue to the next window.



In the next window, Internet E-mail Settings (POP3), you will be asked to fill out your account settings. Enter your name as you would like it to appear on your outgoing messages in the Name field. In the E-mail Address field, type in your full Covad.net email address. Server Information will need to be specified as follows:

Incoming mail server (POP3): pop.covad.net
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.covad.net

Alternatively, you may also use mail.covad.net for both Incoming and Outgoing fields

Under the Login Information section, type your full covad.net email address in the User Name field. Type your e-mail account password in the Password field and click the option to check the box Remember password. Once you have finished these settings, click the More Settings... button.



In the next window, click the tab at the top Outgoing Server. Click the box to check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication. Click the radio button to select Use same settings as my incoming mail server. Click the OK button at the bottom of the window to return to the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) window. From the Internet E-mail Settings (POP3) window, click the Next button.



Click the Finish button and your Covad.net email account will be added.
